Five Secrets for Staying Inspired to Make the Most of Each Day

Five Secrets for Staying Inspired to Make the Most of Each Day

There is a season for rest, and there is a season for zest

I woke up to the early morning sun rays coming through the window, sooner than in previous weeks due to the seasons changing. Summer was near.

For weeks I struggled to get out of bed due to extreme pregnancy fatigue during my first trimester. I spent many hours laying on the couch, which was unusual for me.

This morning was different. “Enough already,” I thought. You see, there are seasons of resting, and then there are seasons for getting things done.

I had noticed my energy steading increasing back to normal over the last couple weeks. While I think it is important to listen to our body’s signals to rest, it is just as important to listen to the signal of ,“Okay you’re better now.”

I think this subconsciously was the inspiration for the Larkspur Daily Intentions Journal. Without starting our day with the right intentions and focus, it is so easy to let the whole day slip away without embracing it to the fullest. I knew I needed to get organized and refocused to get motivated and back on track.

Five Secrets for Staying Inspired
to Make the Most of Each Day

#1: Quiet Time in the Morning

You can do whatever you want during this time, even of all you have is five minutes. You can read, you can journal, or you can simply crack a window open and enjoy your morning cup of coffee or tea.

#2: Eat a Balanced, Healthy Breakfast

If you don’t, feelings of sluggishness and hunger will distract you from getting things done!

#3: Before Starting the Day, Make a Goals or Intentions List

Over the years with utmost consistency I get more out of the days where I make a goals list of everything I’d like to get done. I try to be realistic, and its okay if I don’t get it all done.

#4: Utilize Small Pockets of Time

It’s amazing how much you can get done in 5-10 minutes. A few examples: clean a bathroom. Declutter the countertop. Fold a load of laundry. Think through your days and how many “pockets” of spare time get wasted by scrolling on social media, browsing, the internet, etc. We have to be very intentional about using or pockets of free time, otherwise they will be wasted.

#5: End Your Day Meaningfully

Just as it is easy to waste pockets of free time, it is easy to waste away our evenings watching TV shows or other activities that don't provide much meaning to our lives. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have much energy at the end of the day. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy our evenings. Lay down on the couch and read a book. Snuggle with a pet. You get the idea, something simple yet cozy. And a side benefit—you will probably sleep better this way!
